The Children Are Writing A Show

Our Youth program is designed to encourage creativity and positive forms of expression in a structured environment. Each young person is allowed to maximize their talents in their particular area of interest while working cooperatively to bring forth a final production.

Session 1:Writing the Show

For five weeks (10 hours) all 35 youth will be taken through the creative process of turning their thoughts into dialogue and stage movements that graft into a viable story.

Session 2:Introduction of the Disciplines

Weeks 6 though 11 they will spend two hours a piece with the Acting Supervisor/ Dance, Art Director; Music Director; Custom and Prop master; and the lighting and sound technician. During each session they will make crucial decision on how they would like the production to be reflected from each discipline.

There will be two week break the last two weeks in August for vacations and to get ready for the new school year.

Session 3: Putting the show together

From the first Saturday in September to last week in October the youth will be in production, they will break up to work into the disciplines of there preference to work on developing the show. They will perform the last weekend in October and for the outdoor Alternative Halloween Children’s Festival on October 31. There may also be addition performances upon request throughout the remainder of the year.
